Introduction to Let’s Encrypt
Let’s Encrypt is a free certificate authority that launched recently that provides free SSL certificates for Transport Layer Security (TLS) encryption via an automated process designed to eliminate the current complex process of manual creation, validation, signing, installation, and renewal of certificates for secure websites.
We at HopeWebHost have introduced Let’s Encrypt to our shared hosting platform and our customers have the advantage of securing their websites free of cost using Let’s Encrypt SSL certificates. The Let’s Encrypt plugin used in our servers automatically provision cPanel accounts with Let’s Encrypt SSL certificates for sites that do not already have valid CA-signed SSL certificates.
Unlike earlier, where it was mandatory to purchase a dedicated IP for SSL, SSL installation has now become much simpler. There is no need to purchase a dedicated IP Address, no need to go through any steps to generate the CSR and get the cert signed – it’s fully automated and you can just use your SSL in a click.
